For more than 900 years Farnham Castle was one of the more important residences of the Bishops of Winchester, many of whom were amongst the most prominent men in the kingdom. In the Great Hall, or the Bishop's Camera eminent personages discussed great events, plotted schemed and prayed. It has played host to monarchs from the early Middle Ages onwards who appreciated its location and access to hundreds of square miles of hunting.
There are tours of the Bishop's Palace almost every Wednesday afternoon 2-4pm.
